Responsive web design for Social Media Adventures

We’d already created two websites for Ben Maxfield, founder of Social Media Adventures, so when he asked us to work on his next project we were only too pleased to say yes.

Ben wanted a simple single-page site to advertise expeditions that he would plan on behalf of companies looking to take back unique pictures for use on their websites, in print and on social media.

He particularly wanted it to have an ‘Instagram’-like feel, to emphasise the relationship between his new service and social media. He didn’t particularly want to show individual images of expeditions he’d organised, but instead wanted to give a flavour of the sorts of pictures brands would be able to achieve. A rapidly changing 3×3 grid of images from his trips does just that.

A simple ‘about Ben’ and a contact form complete the page.

Even though the site is simple, we still spent some time developing two wireframes to illustrate potential design directions. Whilst both had merits, Ben clearly had a picture in his mind of what it was he wanted and we were able to capture that in his site.
