PMG Company are a specialist supplier of cable harnessing products, expandable braided sleeving and heat shrinkable tubing.  Based just outside Swindon in Wiltshire they export all over the world.

Responsive web design for PMG Company

We inherited PMG’s old website from their previous agency and after a detailed investigation of the functionality we recommended replacing it with a newer, much more efficient site which would be easier to manage.

We spent a long time working on the wireframe and the design, all of which was done in-house, but had a very clear scope and set of deliverables to build from.

As well as an enhanced design and updated WordPress & WooCommerce e-commerce platform, we would need to transfer the content and the products and ensure that functionality such as receiving order notifications from eBay remained.  PMG have a relatively small number of products, but all with a vast number of variations – tubes of various lengths, colours and thicknesses.  All told, I think we imported nearly 3,000 products and their variants, which was a bit more than anyone was expecting.

Working in close association with PMG’s SEO specialists we also transferred meta data and applied content optimisations to ensure minimal organic search value was lost in the move.

PMG took the opportunity to update their corporate branding in line with the new website design and we helped with creating various templates for a selection of documents.

There is still more work to be done on the site including synching with an Amazon store, as well as the existing eBay one, but we’re looking forward to becoming PMG’s technical partner on this project.
