A new website for SCR Air Ltd

Graphic design, wireframing and a set of products which can be easily filtered to help customers find what’s right for them.

We’ve recently launched a new website for SCR Air – the sole approved UK agent for SCR Screw industrial air compressors. Nigel Cook, director at SCR Air, contacted us after seeing the website we’d recently made for The Malt Miller.

He liked the simplicity of the site and, in particular, the five USP ‘icons’ we’d placed towards the top of the homepage which quickly and effectively tell the user why they should be shopping here.

As is our usual way of working, we spent some time talking to Nigel about the goals of the website and helping him to focus on what it was he wanted to achieve.

We discussed audience types – who they were and what they were looking for.

We looked at competitors and came to the conclusion that what the site really needed was a simple way for customers to apply filters to choose a compressor type that best fitted their needs.

We worked on a custom-made graphic design, identified the most effective information architecture and brought all of this together in a modified WordPress site with Content Management System which would allow Nigel to easily add and modify products as specifications and ranges changed over time.

Products can be filtered in realtime using AJAX and a set of simple-to-use sliders, then compared side-by-side.

We’re very pleased with the site we built for Nigel, and are glad he is too. It’s simple, yet effective, with the focus being placed on offering the best user experience to his customers.
