Evolving an established brand online
We united four separate websites into one seamless experience, improving mobile usability while preserving Helen Browning's Organic's established brand identity and heritage.

Five years ago, we launched a brand new website for The Malt Miller, complete with its own recipe generator – a tool that gave homebrewers a way to create and order their own bespoke recipes.
The recipe generator has been well used (and well reviewed), but following a significant update to the rest of the website in 2019 we began looking at how we could offer a better recipe generator user experience, particularly on tablet and mobile.
We began a lengthy wireframing exercise, with versions for iPad and iPhone as well as desktop so that we could consider how best to show the various elements on those different devices. The solution we settled on for mobile was quite different to the desktop version, and it was interesting to work on developing an adaptive user interface to cater for those viewports.
We used members of our usability focus group to run through the wireframes, to be sure we were suggesting sensible changes, then turned the wireframe and the new visual designs over to our developers.
The new recipe generator has been well received by customers and is a marked improvement over the old, not only in terms of usability, but has added functionality and is faster too.
