WordPress/PHP developers

As a growing business, we’re currently looking for (at least one) experienced and passionate WordPress Developer to join our growing team.

You can expect to work on many new green-field projects, as well as being asked to maintain and add new features to existing customers’ sites.

You’ll be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, creating WordPress themes and plugins and helping to guide other developers working on other projects. You’ll know a good user experience when you see one and will instinctively think about the best ways in which our customer administrators will be able to maintain their content over time.

As well as WordPress sites we have several clients wanting bespoke PHP builds with custom functionality and we’ll need you to help build these. We have several sites built in Laravel, so it would be a significant advantage if you were familiar with this already.

We’re expecting you to have had at least three of years’ development experience in a WordPress and PHP environment – more would be better if you’re working on our larger projects (which we’d like you to).

Qualifications are good, but experience counts too, so don’t be put off if you don’t have a degree but know PHP, MySQL and WordPress inside out! We’d like you to show us some examples of your work too (but completely understand that once you turn a website over to a client it doesn’t remain in the state in which you delivered it to them!)

We want you to take a lead role in establishing best practices and defining the development direction in which we move. We’ll want our team of developers to look to you for guidance and to help solve problems too.

Our flexible working and family-friendly policies mean there are opportunities to define your own hours and, to a certain extent, choose where (and when) you work.

Want to work part-time? That’s ok. Want to work school-friendly hours? No problem. If you’ve got the skills we need and the determination to make it work, then we’ll be flexible around you, although we do expect to see you in the office at least part of the time.

Oh – and we’ve free tea and coffee too, but then you’d kinda expect that.

Interested? Send us your CV and a covering letter and we’ll be in touch.
