The following checklist will get you started on the key issues to consider when developing your own website compliance checklist. Please keep in mind this checklist is provided as an overview of these issues. If your website doesn’t rank against these checks please contact us for more information.
Use of Logos and Pictures
• Do any pages have materials with copyrights, trademarks, or service marks (including photos or drawings)? Make sure you have appropriate approvals to use or link to these materials.
Disclosures and Notices
• Be sure your site advertises terms that will actually be available, especially when rates are increasing or decreasing.
• Are other disclosures presented in a clear and conspicuous manner?
Links
• Are there links to third parties? If so, do the links imply endorsement of third-party products or services? Have you reviewed the security and privacy policies of the linked third parties?
• Has all information been through an advertising clearance process (review) before posting?
General
• Does your website display your company registration number, registered address and VAT number?
• Does your website show out of date offers, promotions and functions or events from 2010?
• Is your website displayed in all browsers
• Can your website be seen on Google, Yahoo, Bing and Chrome?
